এমনই এক সুন্দর সময় ছড়িয়ে প্রেসিডেন্ড আব্দুল হামিদের আমন্ত্রনে আমি সুজলা-সুফলা বাংলাদেশে রাস্ট্রিয় সফরে এসেছিলাম। এটি হবে ছয় বছর পর আমার দ্বীতিয় বাংলাদেশ সফর।  এ সফরে আমি নতুন পুরাতন বন্ধুদের সংজ্ঞে সম্পর্কে ঝালাই যৌথভাবে উন্নায়নের নতুন ধারনা অন্বেষন এবং এক সংজ্ঞে সহযোগিতার পরিকল্পনার সু্যোগ পাব বলে আসা করছি।

I came to Sujla-Sufla Bangladesh on a state visit at the invitation of President Abdul Hamid. This will be my second visit to Bangladesh in six years. During this visit, I would like to take this opportunity to explore new ideas for joint development, to explore new and old friendships, and to come up with collaborative plans.

বাংলাদেশ এক অদ্ভুত সুন্দর ও মনোরম স্থান। 

এখানে আছে' পদ্মা, মেঘনা ও যমুনার মতো তিনটি বড়ো

নদী। আছে হাজার হাজার বর্গমাইলের উপর ভূমি।

বঅছরের অধিকাংশ সময় বাংলাদেশ সবুজ জেইড পাথরের মতো রঙিন। 

আবার ফসল তোলার সময় এই দেশেই আবার সোনালী পোষকে আবৃত হয়।

অদ্বিয় প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যের লীলাভূমি এই দেশের মানুষ 

পরিশ্রমি ও বুদ্ধিমতি।

বাঙালি ও বংলা ভাষায় রয়েছে হাজার বছরের উজ্জল ইতিহাস।

বাংলা সাহিত্য চর্চা করে বিশ্বখ্যাত হয়েছে 

 বিশ্বকবি রবিন্দ্রান ঠাকুর।
